A celebration of Life was held at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Windom, MN on Friday, March 22, 2013 with Pastor Arthur Miller officiating.

E. Wayne Parker was born on June 16, 1921, in Storden Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to the late Omer and Dolly (Leat) Parker. He received his education in the Storden Public Schools; graduating in the Class of 1939. He then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1941 before World War II and served as a submariner for six years until his honorable discharge. He then returned to the Storden where he farmed and drove the bulk oil truck for Standard Oil. On April 4, 1944, Wayne was united in marriage to Dorothy Maxine Currie in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This marriage was blessed with one daughter Dorothy Patricia Parker. Dorothy Maxine passed away February 4, 1952. Wayne was reunited in marriage on November 2, 1952 to Carol Chapman. They lived in St. James, Minnesota and then moved to a farm east of Slayton, Minnesota before retiring and moving to Windom, Minnesota in 1992. On January 14, 1994, Carol passed away. Wayne continued to live in Windom. On March 7, 2011, Wayne became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge in Windom where he passed away on Saturday morning, March 16, 2013, at the age of 91 years. Wayne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Windom. Through the years, he enjoyed gardening and raising glads.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Dorothy “Patti” Milliron, Bishop, CA; his granddaughter Megan Concetta Milliron, Sacramento, CA; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Dorothy; second wife Carol; three sisters; and two brothers.

A celebration of Life was held at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Windom, MN on Friday, March 22, 2013 with Pastor Arthur Miller officiating. Oranist was Carol Vought. Vocalists were Duane and Randy kay Hooge. Casketbearers were Roger Nerhus, Gary Moller, Fred Meyer, Don Hoppe, Babe and Pete Brand. Military honors by the American Legion Post 206, Windom, MN. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Slayton, MN.
