The Slayton Police Department (SPD) responded to a report at 1:35 on the morning of March 6, 2013 of an adult male that had assaulted an adult female in the 2600 block of Juniper Avenue. The suspect was gone when SPD arrived. Information was gathered. Charges for fifth degree assault on the adult male are pending.

An adult male reported at 10:00 that morning he was driving on 20th Street approaching the crosswalk near Juniper Avenue. The driver indicated that he was nearing the crosswalk when two people stepped out in front of his vehicle, and the driver was unable to stop safely. One of the pedestrians was reported to have flipped off the driver. SPD spoke with Murray County Medical Center (MCMC) staff and a construction manager regarding the incident. Both MCMC and construction staff will be advised to cross 20th Street with more care.
