Funeral services were held at First Presbyterian Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2013 with the Rev. Stephanie Huisman officiating.
1915 - Betty Leinen - 2013

Betty Leinen, the daughter of Fred and Annie Svensen Vick, was born on May 19, 1915 in Nobles County, Minnesota. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. Betty was united in marriage to Leo Leinen on December 22, 1933 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After their marriage they lived near Westbrook, Minnesota and later on a farm in Nobles County near Fulda, Minnesota. In 1964 they moved into Fulda. She remained at their home after Leo passed away in September of 1985. She worked in the Fulda Public Schools in the lunch program for 25 years. Betty entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, in April of 2010 and passed away there on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the age of 97. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fulda where she had been active with the ladies aid. Betty also did volunteer work over the years. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, playing cards, bingo and shopping.  

Survivors include her children: Douglas (Marlene) Leinen, Fulda, MN and Marla (Darrel) Ford, Watertown, SD; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons: Gerald and Lowell “Larry” Leinen; grandson Darrell Leinen; four brothers: Clarence, Elliot, Charles, and Albert Vick and three sisters: Minnie Coffit, Lillian Vosberg and baby Clara Vick.

Funeral services were held at First Presbyterian Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2013 with the Rev. Stephanie Huisman officiating. The organist was Norma Meyeraan. The pallbearers were her grandsons: John Leinen, Ken Leinen, Steve Leinen, Bruce Leinen, John Schettler, Dave Palomaki, Terry Ommen and Randy Weyen. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.
