Recipes: Honey Bran Muffins; Almond Mandarin Salad; Blueberry Kuchen
I havenít been watching the calendar with the special events on it lately so it completely slipped my mind that St. Patrickís Day was on Sunday. I seldom forget that as it was my fatherís birthday and even though he was Swedish through and through we still had to have something green for him either as a gift or a cake with green frosting. Most often I have tried to include some kind of potato or cabbage dish that would have reminded us of the Irish celebration. Apparently I was thinking more of what to make for Easter especially this year with Easter being so early. My family decided we should use food from the freezer before it is time to get the new harvest stored away. Itíll take more than one dinner or day of feasting for that and they may be surprised what is found for vegetables or dessert. Any bread left from the fair baking has long since been given to feed the birds. At least it didnít all go to waste.
