hears comments regarding
competitive cheerleading; denies grievance from teacher | |

The school board last Tuesday evening heard comments from a large contingent of parent and students interested in participating in competitive cheerleading at Murray County Central. The school several years ago cut the sport when budget constraints made it necessary to shave various activities and now is being asked to reconsider that action.
Cheerleading Advisor, Amanda Berreau, provided an outline of projected costs as well as anticipated participation and asked the board if there was any way the students could be allowed to participate in out of state competitive meets. At the time that budget cuts were made, Athletic Director James Wajer explained, all out of state basketball and wrestling meets were included.
