1941 - Donna Mae Peterson - 2013

Donna was born in Marshall, Minnesota, on December 20, 1941. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1959 and Minneapolis Business College in 1961. She was a devoted employee and loyal friend to coworkers at Aid Association for Lutherans in Appleton, Wisconsin; Redwood Motor Supply in Redwood Falls, Minnesota; South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota; and Pinnacle Publishing in Bemidji, Minnesota. Her life revolved around her family. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan and supporter. She loved to sing, travel, spend time outdoors and care for animals. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family. She loved to go on adventures with her girls, cheer for her favorite sports teams and camp with her family every summer at Cass Lake. Donna passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, surrounded by her family at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton, Minnesota, at the age of 71.

She is survived by her husband Jim Peterson; three children: Kim (Scott) Olafson, Lake Shetek, MN; Kelly (Jeffrey) Sheehan, Chanhassen, MN; and Mark (Michele) Hogan, Lander, WY; six grandchildren: Amanda (Michael) Berreau, Katie Olafson, Nick Olafson, Jake Hogan, Alex Hogan and Hunter Sheehan; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Olinda (Garlich) Poppick and sister Darlene (Poppick) Kelley.

She was a great mom, loving wife and devoted grandma who will always be known for her love, big hugs and zest for life. We are grateful for the loving care she received at Sanford Cancer Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, and at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton, MN.

Memorial services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, MN on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jay Borchert and Rev.
