Recipes: Seeded Butternut Squash Braid; Cheesy Fettuccine; Chicken Chili

As I looked out the window on Friday morning I was quite certain it hadn’t rained overnight, after all the temperature was much below Zero for the coldest day of the year in the past three years. I don’t know what the wind chill was for sure but it must have been in the twenties below zero for sure. The thermometer said more than minus 10. At that point who cares what it reads, it is just plain cold. I put out some food for the birds the other day and it froze so hard I couldn’t scrape it off their feeder as I thought maybe it could be salvaged for another day. Even the bright sun doesn’t soften it enough so they can pick away for their dinner. Back to the window view. The city had placed cones along the front and there was a machine trying to remove some of the ice off the street.
