Funeral services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, MN on Friday, January 25, 2013 with Rev. Chris Naig officiating.

Donna Boese was born on March 26, 1931 on the Reese homestead in Cameron Township, Murray County, Minnesota to Henry and Frieda Hinz Reese. Donna was Baptized and Confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Woodstock, Minnesota.  She grew up on the family farm until 1948 when the family moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. Donna graduated from Pipestone High School in 1949. On March 12, 1950 she and Berle Boese were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Following their marriage they made their home on the Boese’s family farm north of Lake Wilson, Minnesota. Donna worked at the Murray County Medical Center in the business office for 30 years, retiring in 1996. In 2004 they moved to Slayton when their son, Kerry and his family moved to the farm site. In November 2012 Donna moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton and passed away there on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the age of 81. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson where she served as Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir, and was active with the women’s organization. She also was a member of the Murray County Hospital Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary where she held several offices. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s activities, family trips, dancing, sewing, cake decorating, bowling, reading and playing cards. 

Survivors include her husband Berle Boese, Slayton, MN; three children: Karen van der Hagen, Olivia, MN, Kerry Boese and his wife Debra, Lake Wilson, MN and Kraig Boese and his wife Brenda, Avoca, MN; nine grandchildren: Tonya and Chad Grunewald, Jason and Katie van der Hagen, Jeremie and Anita van der Hagen, Logan Boese, Ellie Boese, Hannah Boese, Nichole Boese, Riley Boese and Chase Reese; seven great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Florence Reese, La Junta, CO, Theola Reese,f Cleveland, OH, Frances Reese,f Colorado Springs, CO, and Deborah Reese, Palmer Lake, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law David van der Hagen; grandson Jordan Boese; four brothers: Marvin, Elmer, Wilfred and Maynard Reese and one sister-in-law Betty Reese.

Funeral services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, MN on Friday, January 25, 2013 with Rev. Chris Naig officiating. The organist was Darlene Bose. The pallbearers were Jeremie van der Hagen, Jason van der Hagen, Logan Boese, Chase Reese, Dave Reese, and Steve Reese. Interment is at St. John’s Cemetery rural Lake Wilson, MN.
