Letter to the Editor -
I have not written many letters to the editor but I had to respond to the article, “Slayton High School Trophies Restored”, in the December 12, 2012, issue of the Murray County News. Now I don't begrudge the SHS trophies being displayed in a trophy case but I think they were in the appropriate place - the Murray County Historical Museum. SHS has not been in existence for 20 years and neither has Chandler-Lake Wilson High School. That is because 20 years ago, an F5 tornado destroyed major parts of the towns of Chandler and Lake Wilson in June 1992.
