Live Nativity held at Shetek Lutheran Bible Camp

It was a serene sight last Saturday evening at the Lake Shetek Lutheran Bible camp as more than 25 volunteers gathered to present their annual Live Nativity  on the shores of Lake Shetek.   The sacred birth of Christ was reenacted by the hardy actors, complete with angels, the Magi, Mary and Joseph, livestock and of course the infant baby Jesus.  Gazing on the site brought to mind the solemnity of the Christmas season, much to the delight of those in attendance.  Mother Nature even complied, providing a lovely dusting of snow to complete the picturesque setting.

Camp director, Marv Nysetvold, garbed as one of the three kings, noted that this will mark the fourth year that the group has presented the nativity event in the camp chapel.  Volunteers and camp staff comprised the cast and did a fine job in their roles.  "It's always a fun event," he said, adding that each year many families attend as a seasonal tradition.
