Boys starts season

December 5, 2012

in Sleepy Eye
By Joel Herrig, The MCC Rebel Boys were on the court for the first time this year with a pair of games in Sleepy Eye. The Rebels took on the Indians Friday night and then played the Knights of Sleepy Eye Saint Mary’s on Saturday afternoon. The Rebels team is very different this season with a large group of seniors who have not seen a great deal of playing time at the varsity level and several juniors who have not played at the varsity level.

Sleepy Eye was another team with a great deal of inexperience due to several reasons. They were lacking their regular guards including their best player. They were forced to start a freshman and the Indians pulled everything together for a strong performance and a victory.

The Indians were missing three players entering this game and it showed in their game plan against the Rebels. The Indians played a strong 2-3 defense not allowing anything easy on the inside while allowing the Rebels to set up their offense without facing much pressure.
