Funeral services were held at Lake Sarah Baptist Church rural Slayton, MN on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Lassen officiating.

Florence Eisfeld was born on April 9, 1915 on a farm in Lowville Township, Murray County, Minnesota the youngest of 12 children born to Peter and Tilla Gilbertson Swan. The family later moved to a farm in Skandia Township where Florence attended Country School District #110. In 1926 the family moved to Slayton,, Minnesota. On February 21, 1933 she and Guy Byers were married in Pipestone, Minnesota. Following their marriage they lived in Slayton until 1938 when they moved to a farm north of Hadley, Minnesota. In 1964 they retired and moved to a home east of Slayton. Guy passed away on November 13, 1973. Florence married Walter Eisfeld on October 21, 1978 and they made their home north of Hadley. Walter passed away on October 19, 1984. Florence remained on the farm until 1987 when she moved to an apartment in Slayton. Florence became a resident of the Golden Living Center-Slayton in August 2003 and passed away there on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the age of 97. Florence was a member of the Lowville Birthday Extension Club, the Linger Longer Extension Birthday Club, and the Slayton United Methodist Church where was active in many organizations. She was presently a member of the Lake Sarah Baptist Church where she had been active in the Adult Fellowship Group and had also served as a deaconess. 

Survivors include three children and their spouses: Douglas and Dorothy Byers, Slayton, MN, Carole and Marion Schmitz, Redding, CA and Larry and Gail Byers, Slayton, MN; two step-children and their spouses: Larry and Sandy Eisfeld, Hadley, MN and Sharon and James Goding, Schaumburg, IL; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law Betty Swan, Slayton, MN. She was preceded in death by her husbands Guy Byers and Walter Eisfeld; daughter-in-law Sylvia Byers; son-in-law C.J Belloni; granddaughter Lisa Belloni; infant great-grandson Derrik Byers and five sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services were held at Lake Sarah Baptist Church rural Slayton, MN on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Lassen officiating. The organist was Jen Tramm with special music by her granddaughter, Shelly Gieselman and great-granddaughters, Kahla and Jordan Gieselman. The pallbearers were her grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton, MN.
