How many times have you looked at your wedding pictures lately? Our 56th wedding anniversary was on Saturday and we got out the album of our wedding. It was interesting to read the list of gifts and givers. Apparently we received a lot of pickle dishes, blankets and tablecloths all of which we have used many times since. I also noticed the cash gifts were under $10 and most a dollar or two. At the time I had picked out my glassware pattern and received several goblets which we have added to over the years. Perhaps most interesting was the itinerary of our wedding trip and what we spent. The first night was at Worthington motel and from there we went to Wisconsin to visit one of Robert’s army buddies and then to Chicago and stayed with Rev. Hector’s, the first pastor of First Reformed Church here in Slayton. In Chicago we toured several places of interest.
