Each year, Murray County Central is often fortunate to have exchange students roam the halls along with the regular student body. This year, MCC accepted three exchange students into their program, of which all three of them shared their stories as to how they have adapted to American culture and school.

Catarina Stampfl, Helene Sele, and Juliane Stankus each arrived in Minnesota in the month of August, however at different times.

Helene Sele was the first to arrive in Minnesota and made her debut on August 4th. Her host parents are Chuck and Sandy Ludolph of Slayton. Sele also recorded the longest travel time in order to arrive in Minnesota. Her parents, Roald and Anne, along with her brother, Andres, and her two sisters, Marie, and Irene, helped start her trip from their home in Norway. From there Sele was sent to Iceland, then on to Boston where she spent 10 days at a camp to help better prepare her for the upcoming year. Sele then flew to Philadelphia, and to Chicago, and finally ended the estimated 36 hour total flight time in Minneapolis.
