The MCC Rebels were back on the road in the section 3A Semifinals as the Rebels traveled to Adrian to take on the Dragons for the second time this season. The Rebels lost during the regular season in Slayton 28 to 8 and this game was much closer in what was a classic, old fashioned football matchup. The Rebels put forth a great effort but in the end, the Rebels season came to an end in one of the better played games of the year.
The first half was a back and forth half with Adrian controlling field position. The Dragons took the ball first and drove inside the Rebel’s thirty yard line before two strong tackles stopped the drive. Adrian attempted to fake a punt and Jake Tiede was stopped well short of a first down. The Rebels got the ball back, but punted after three plays. Again, Adrian drove into Rebel territory before being forced to punt. MCC drove back and cleared midfield before punting again to Adrian.
