The fall harvest has been progressing at a rapid pace due to dry field conditions, dry crops, and the near-absence of rain delays. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop and Weather report released October 1, soybean harvest is progressing rapidly in Minnesota, as 76 percent of the state's soybeans had been harvested. This figure is significantly higher than the previous week's estimate of 45 percent and more than three times the 5-year average for the same date, which is 23 percent.
