| Approves band and chior trip to New York City | |

The Murray County Central board of education Monday night approved the 2012 preliminary tax levy, payable in 2013, at a maximum of approximately $1,947,500. The amount, reflecting a 10% increase, will be officially certified in December. A Truth in Taxation public hearing will be held December 12, at 7:00 before the regular school board meeting. Choir director Ryan Werdon presented a proposed itinerary for the band and choir trip to New York city, on June 13-18, 2013. Werdon noted that there will be a 10:1 chaperone ratio and expects approximately 90 to 120 students to participate in the tour, at a cost of approximately $750 per student.
