For the past few years, the Slayton Junior High traveling baseball team has had dominating seasons up to the end of the year tournament. The last two years, Slayton ended up taking second in the tournaments. This year, they did what they could to not make it a third year in a row without a championship and came away with good results.
Slayton got seeded number one and took on the Fulda in the first game of the day. Starting pitcher Garrett Johnson dominated all game through. In the first inning, Johnson collected three strikeouts, putting Slayton on offense fairly quickly.
