Blood donations

July 18, 2012

in high need status
Tracy/Westbrook/Walnut Grove/Slayton, MN - Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive on Saturday, July 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the End of the Line Park in Currie, Minnesota in conjunction with the Shetek Health and Fitness Fair.

This blood drive is being held at a time when the blood supply is at very low levels. There is an immediate need for people to donate blood to ensure an adequate supply of blood through the end of July. Blood donations are in critical need.

Whether you are a multi-gallon donor or donating blood for the first time, your blood donation will save up to three patients’ lives. At the completion of your blood donation, is is then divided into platelets, plasma and red blood cells. These three components are transfused to burn, trauma, surgery and cancer patients. Help give someone another adventure this summer by donating blood. A person can safely donate whole blood every 56 days.
