There have been months of preparation for Slayton's 125th celebration and all-school reunion and now the countdown begins in ernest. The community event will span four days filled with activities aimed at just about anyone and everyone in town.
Kicking off the celebration on Thursday will be the prom dress exhibition at the historic Dinehart/Holt house on Linden Avenue. The museum will be featuring 70 vintage dresses on display which will also include in many cases, photographs of the dress being worn at the events for which they were made or purchased. Visitors are enouraged to stop at the historic house that is maintained by the museum and tour its entire two floors that are filled with vintage relics.
