Once upon a day there was a time when there were no electronic gadgets, no Ipads or cellular phones, no e-books or computers, and no television. Distractions were few yet at the same time, one had to find creative ways to pass the time. Reading was good. So it was listening to the radio.
In fact, the radio was an important part of most every household in America during the post-depression era and on through the next few decades. Radio provided the news, music, and best of all, entertainment for all ages. It was the pinnacle of media between 1920 and 1940. Unlike television and films, a radio drama challenged the audience's sense of hearing and powers of concentration and imagination.
