Thony advances to state track meet

In both 100 and 200 meter dash
Jack Thony, sophomore at Murray County Central, earned himself a trip to the State Track meet. Thony finished second in both the 100 and 200 meters to advance to the state at Hamline University in St. Paul this Friday and Saturday. He will compete in the prelims on Friday at 3:30.

According to the Minnesota State High School League website there will be three heats of the 100 and 200 meter dash. The top two from each heat plus the next three best times will advance to the finals on Saturday afternoon.

Thony crossed the finish line of the 100 with a time of 12.01. His best for the season was recorded at the Red Rock Conference (11.36). He recorded a time of 23.93 for the 200 meter dash. His personal best in the 200 also took place at the conference (22.96).
