City of Slayton ends year with positive general fund despite $44,726 local government aid loss | |
|
Despite the loss of Local Government Aid of $44,726 last year, the city of Slayton managed to emerge at the end of the year with a positive General Fund balance of $205,955.88, Auditor Steve Haugen reported to Slayton city council members Monday night.
We haven’t seen anything like that in quite awhile, Haugen said. “That’s pretty significant.” Haugen went on to review the city’s various fund balances, including Public Safety, General Fund, Public Works, Library and Recreation, reporting that all ended the accounting year above budget.
