Gertsema proposes $10 per capita fee each year to help raise funds for ambulance
Jim Gertsema, coordinator of Murray County Emergency Medical Services spoke with the Slayton City Council member last Wednesday night regarding a plan he has devised to keep the ambulance service in Murray County a viable one.

Gertsema proposed assessing a $10 per capita fee each year in an effort to generate enough funds in three years to replace one of the two ambulances now in use. The county, he said, has never charged a fee for its services. At the proposed rate, he estimated enough would be available at the end of three year for the purchase.
