Slayton Auction Center under new management

Operating with the name of Slayton Auction Center, LLC , the business held its first hay and straw auction on Thursday at noon.
As of December 1st, the former Slayton Auction Barn is under new management through a lease with owner, Chuck Platt. Operating with the name of Slayton Auction Center, LLC , the business held its first hay and straw auction on Thursday at noon. Slayton Auction Center, LLC is under the management of Duane Mulder, Jim Von Holtum, Randy Buntjer and J. J. Von Holtum. Combined, these four auctioneers have over 66 years of experience, and three generations of auctioneers. Specializing in machinery, land sales and real estate auctions, they have conducted nearly 2,000 farm equipment auctions and have sold thousands of acres of farm land at auction. Duane Mulder is a certified appraiser and a licensed real estate broker for Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota. Jim Von Holtum, is experienced in real estate sales. He is married to Mulder's daughter, Lori. Randy Buntjer has been designated as the Slayton Auction Center's Sales Manager, and is a licensed appraiser. J. J. Von Holtum is Jim and Lori's son. Joyce Mulder, Duane's wife, and Connie, Randy Buntjer's wife, both work as clerks. A staff of fifteen employees help in preparing for auctions. "The Slayton Auction Center is a welcome addition to our business," stated Mulder who owns Duane Mulder Auction Service at Luverne, MN. "We are looking forward to being part of Slayton and the surrounding communities," Buntjer added. "Anyone with questions can call any of the four of us. In fact, if a customer calls Slayton Auction Center, LLC, that phone number rings into my cell phone." Randy Buntjer operates under the name of Randy Buntjer Auction and Appraisal Company and is located south of Worthington, MN. The auctioneers also have the Auction Center in Beaver Creek, MN, which is a large indoor auction center. The addition of the Slayton Auction Center, LLC, brings their total to four auction centers. Slayton Auction Center, LLC, will hold a weekly hay and straw auction each Thursday at noon.
