The MCC boys wrapped up their home schedule on Friday night against the Ellsworth Panthers. The Rebels hoped to have a perfect home season this year and to do that, they had to repeat what they did against Ellsworth earlier in the year when the Rebels beat the Panthers 61-27. The Rebels boast a large number of seniors which meant the night was extra special for the team as many were playing their final home game. MCC was able to get what they were looking for – another home win.

MCC has played some strong basketball since the Christmas break and with different players missing time that isn’t always easy to do. On Friday the Rebels knew they needed to win a game despite not playing all that well recently.

The first meeting between the two teams was not pretty. It lacked tempo, pace, and in the end, the Rebels allowed just seven second-half points on the way to a victory. But they didn’t play a great game – especially on offense.
