Behnke earns sixth place finish at Harrisburg Tourney

The Warrior wrestling team hit the road this past weekend making the trek to Harrisburg, South Dakota. They were part of a 13 team Invitational this past Saturday.

Fulda/MCC had six wrestlers competing on the day. Landen Like-Bonnstetter was 0-2 on the day. He received a buy in the first match. In the quarterfinal, Bonstettter was defeated by Logan O’Connor of Harrisburg got the better of Bonstetter putting him on his back in a time of 3:23. In the consolation round 2, Bonnstetter once again received a bye. Round 3 found him up against Eiljah Taniah, Sioux Falls, who tech fell Bonnstetter 21-4).

At 145 pounds Rylan Behnke recorded a sixth-place finish after falling by a 14-12 decision to Izaak Reed of Alcester. Behnke opened the tournament with Eli Kadoun, Sioux Falls, losing by a 19-4 tech fall. Kadoun went on to claim the championship. Behnke fell into the consolation bracket where he received a bye the first round. The second round matched him up against Brenden Blakney with Behnke putting Blakney’s shoulders to the mat in a time of 2:45. Behnke notched his second pin of the day in round 3 where he was pitted against Leyton Raffety, Milbank. As the clock hit 4:22 the referee slapped the mat for Behnke pin. He advanced to the consolation semifinal match where Behnke tangled with Dylan Hage of Harrisburg. Behnke was on the losing end of the deal with Hage claiming the fall. Behnke dropped to the 5th place match-up against Reed losing a tough two-point decision, 14-12.

At 152 pounds Christian Kuball (2-7 on the season) received a bye in the first round. The quarterfinal match he faced Tanner Swab, Sioux Falls Roosevelt) with Swab earning the 15-0 tech fall. The consolation round pitted Kuball against Carter Spence of Harrisburg where he earned an 8-2 decision. In the consolation round 3 Dillon Schneck,  Milbank, earned the pin over Kuball in a time of 2:24.
