Arlene Edmundson – Obituary

1940 – Arlene Ann Edmundson – 2020

  Arlene Edmundson was born on April 7, 1940, at the family home in Slayton, Minnesota to Nicholas and Edna Graf Lentz.  She grew up in Slayton and graduated from Slayton High School in 1958.  On March 23, 1963, she and Herman Edmundson were married at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, Minnesota.  Following their marriage they made their home on a farm north of Lake Wilson, Minnesota  In 1955 they purchased a farm west of Lake Wilson.  Arlene worked at the Slayton Bakery and later sold Avon.  Arlene and Herman spent much of their time together, as Arlene would ride with Herman while he was trucking.  Herman passed away on October 20, 2010.  Arlene passed away at her home on January 20, 2020, at the age of 79.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Lake Wilson.  Arlene also was a member of the Lake Wilson American Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed spending time with family, crossword puzzles, dancing, bowling and watching old-time music shows on TV. 

Survivors include two sisters: Gordena DeGreeff, Slayton, MN, and Arlys Edmundson and her husband Dale, Hadley, MN; one sister-in-law Carol Lentz, Slayton, MN; and several nieces and nephews and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herman; two brothers: Albert ”Duke” Lentz and Virgil Lentz and one brother-in-law Pete DeGreeff.

A family funeral service was held at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. The pallbearers were her nieces and nephews.  Interment is at Hillside Cemetery in Lake Wilson, MN.
