MCC starts season with annual Early Bird

This particular meet is always one of those that’s a guessing game whether the weather will cooperate in order to have the meet. This year was one of those years the meet was a reality.

Making their way to Slayton were teams from Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, Wabasso, Windom Area, and Worthington.

MCC’s Aaron Johnson, a junior, was a contender all last season in the hurdle events and looks to make an impact again this year.

Johnson finished third in the 100-meter event – just missing second by a split second 12.48 to 12.49. Tyler Winter hit a PR (personal best) crossing the finish line at 13.01 with Adrian Galvez finished in the 6th spot with a time of 13.37. Also competing in the event were Brock Smith (13.96), Brayden Alhers (13.96), Logan Steinle (14.00), Jake Bleyenberg (14.04), Colin Christensen (14.24), and Alex Galvez (14.85).
